THE CONCEPT
Two distinct homes, united by light and shared history.
A 1980s family home in Kuwait was reimagined as two distinct villas for two siblings, each reflecting a unique design identity. Connected by a light-filled central atrium, the residences balance individuality with a strong architectural connection.
Our involvement extended from façade consultation and spatial planning to shaping the program and the relationship between interior and exterior spaces. The renovation preserves the integrity and nostalgia of the original structure while introducing a renewed sense of clarity, comfort and contemporary living.
VILLA B
Villa B presents a more contemporary and masculine counterpart, conceived for the brother with a darker, more architectural sensibility. Spanning four floors, the interiors are grounded in richly veined marble, earthy tones, exposed brick and rich walnut hardwood flooring, creating an atmosphere that feels tactile, layered and quietly sophisticated.
At the heart of the villa, the first and second floors are connected through a dramatic double-height volume and mezzanine, introducing a distinctive loft-like character. A monumental wall clad in hand-glazed terracotta tiles anchors the space, bringing depth, warmth and artisanal texture to the architecture.
A curated selection of Italian furniture and artistic lighting fixtures adds sculptural presence throughout, balancing the strength of the material palette with moments of refinement. Deep tonal contrasts, expressive forms and natural finishes give the home a distinct identity—contemporary yet inviting, bold yet understated.
VILLA A
Villa A unfolds across four floors, each shaped by a distinct mood yet united by an unmistakably feminine sensibility. The basement is relaxed and grounded, where an earthy palette and refined farmhouse influences create an inviting setting for informal family life.
In contrast, the ground floor embraces a more formal expression of French contemporary elegance. Hand-cut mosaics, hand-painted wallpapers and intricately composed marble flooring introduce layers of craftsmanship, ornament and quiet grandeur.
The upper levels become increasingly private and intimate, defined by softer tones, delicate detailing and a timeless sophistication. Throughout the villa, femininity is expressed not as decoration, but through proportion, materiality and a carefully considered sense of grace.
